The Annual White House Policy Meeting
Each year African American thought leaders, advocates, entrepreneurs and policy specialists assemble to discuss the challenges facing African Americans the public is largely unaware of that government cannot solve alone. In the tradition of the “Negro Convention” which convened for the first time in 1831, African Americans gather to explore the successes of the prior year, improvements and course correction strategies needed, as well as objectives for the upcoming year. The State Action Council delegation’s challenge is to develop an “Agenda” that its members can take back to their respective communities and states for implementation that aligns with the mission of creating a stronger America through the creation of equity driven policies for the African American in all facets of societal life, education, health, employment, business and commerce.
